Bringing People Together to Fight Cancer with Hope
Our Mission
1. Provide Advice and Support especially at local levels and within communities
Areas of Advice include:
- Advice on difference cancers and treatments available
- Advise on changes within relationships and how to navigate these to ensure improved wellbeing
- Advice on preparations in terminal cases
- Advise on wellness and spiritual wellbeing where appropriate and its being sought
Areas of support include:
- Connecting cancer sufferers in safe environments where they can just be themselves and share their cancer journey
- Arranging ‘normal’ day outings for sufferers to break away from the monotony and constant feel of living under a cancer cloud.
- Connecting carers with other carers and network groups
- Arranging and offering ‘respite’ days for care givers
- Offer legacy planning for loved ones and planning for closure
2. To increase early detection of Cancer especially in poor and developing nations
The cancer journey begins with detection and diagnosis as a sufferer, and successful outcomes heavily rely on early detection. We hope to increase early detection through:
- The Roots and Gene’s Platform which maps cancer occurrence within families, ethnicities, communities, countries, regions and continents.
3. Provide accurate data to government, Health Authorities, Hospitals, NGO’s, Researchers, Pharmaceuticals and other Charities working in the health sector. Data on prevalence, detection, effectiveness of types of cures within different regions, peoples and underlying genetic links. Good Data aids planning and delivery of good health systems.
Our Story
Inspiration and Origins
This cancer journey opened our eyes. Five years earlier, Theresa’s younger sister (Peline) had died of cervical cancer and whilst Theresa herself was undergoing treatment, her younger brother (Hubert) was diagnosed with liver cancer and he passed on within the same year of diagnosis (2015). Obvious questions came to mind and it was then we subsequently found out that their mother (Ephemia) had died of cancer too. And to crown it all, after Theresa’s death, her immediate younger brother (Marcel) was diagnosed with prostate cancer too. In one family, it was one occurrence too many, to be coincidental.
After her death, we took a year to catch our breath during which time it became even more evident that this charity if set up with the right aims, could help many people and bring meaning to Theresa’s suffering and death; and the simple fact was really that, as a family we were still living under the shadow of cancer which probably placed us in the unique position to act, for ourselves first, and yet bring benefit to others.
Theresa firmly believed she had divine protection during her time in hospital. She recounted to us her experiences and visions from whilst she was in intensive care. Throughout her illness, she always had her bible by her side and her rosary around her neck or in her hands; praying. She also felt blessed and fortunate to have people around her and far away who took great interest in her physical and human wellbeing. These were the divine and human angels holding her hand during her cancer journey; regardless of spiritual belief or not.
In acknowledgement of the people who touched Theresa life and ours during this journey, people we acknowledge as angels on earth, and those of the spiritual realm, it was only logical to name the charity, ‘Theresa and Mike’s Angels Cancer Foundation’, in the hope that we too and others, could be angels for those who are yet to live under the shadow of cancer and that maybe, we could lighten their load.
Our Team
Our Partners
Local Partners
We aim to achieve our goals through our own army of volunteers. We only want to work with exceptional and motivated volunteers who are passionate about our cause and care about people. However, we cannot deliver and fulfil our mission alone. We are therefore developing relationships with a few local partners in the areas of support and advice to sufferers and their carer’s in order to ensure that we reach as many people as possible.
Below are some of local partners. Feel free to click on their link to find out more about what they do and how they may be of assistance.

International Partners
There are international organisations which are essential to what we do. These organisations such as Cancer Research UK (who are the world’s largest independent cancer research organisation) not only possess knowledge but also a wealth of information resources which should be made more readily available in poor and developing nations. We want to build such collaborations with many more relevant international organisations.
We have also built partnerships with the United Nations (UN) and World Health Organisation (WHO) who are central to delivery of better health outcomes across the entire world.
Below are direct links to some of their work for your convenience.
